Active in the maritime industry for over 38 years, Captain Dan LaPorte holds a Master AGT US/UK flag and 1st Class pilot endorsement for San Diego. During his career, he has amassed an admirable array of awards, medals, and certifications. However, it is his dedication to organized and flexible training that has earned him the highest esteem from Maritime Pilots Institute's trainees.

With over twenty years service as a Ship’s Master, Capt. LaPorte possesses a natural dedication to the maritime industry, including pilots, masters and deck officers. As Maritime Pilots Institute's senior maritime instructor, he creates a challenging but reassuring environment for trainees to examine, explore, and experience within the professional maritime environment.
